Organizers were amazed when 25,000 people attended a pro-life rally in Dublin on Saturday, including the Tyrone football team boss Mickey Harte.
The Vigil For Life event was called to highlight opposition to any change on abortion legislation as the Irish government considers reform.
Irish state broadcaster RTE reports that the organizers said the event was ‘intended as a means to express concern about and opposition to plans to legislate for abortion in certain circumstances.’
The Irish are one of the few Western hold-outs to the slaughter-an-innocent-child brigade. It seems they have no intention of changing this either. With an unexpectedly large turnout in Dublin the Irish people spoke up, informing their government that the people believe abortion is wrong. Whether the “representatives” listen to their voice is yet to be determined. However, it would be wise of them to seriously consider their votes on this legislation since the “pro-life” turnout was at a mere 200 demonstrators.
Western nations where abortion is…
Illegal in all cases: Holy See (Vatican City), Malta
Illegal except to save a mother’s life: Andorra, San Marino, and Monaco
All the above nations are Roman Catholic.

Yes, of course they are all RC. I was brought up a Catholic. I studied RS at A-Level. This is just another way for them to take control of women’s lives away from women. I hear them being accused of being out of touch with modern society, but what are they going to do? Say ‘yes, we have been teaching this for the best part of 2,000 years but as you are all ignoring us, we will relent’…However, as we have seen many a time, failure to change often results in extinction.
“way for them to take control of women’s lives away from women”
So what?
“However, as we have seen many a time, failure to change often results in extinction.”
You know what else leads to extinction? Killing your young by the millions.
If women cannot be trusted to make the right decision then yes, their freedoms should be restricted. Whether an innocent child lives or dies is not up to the parents.
As for change, I hear about that a lot. But no one ever cares to define this “change” and “progress”. Are we to support change for change’s sake? Is any change at any time right? What makes said change right? I support organic development which adapts to new information but is based upon eternal, objective values. Slaughtering innocent children because they are an inconvenience to a life of consuming, having casual sex, and being “free” is not one such change I, or any reasonable person, would support.
